A Leading Oil Industry Company

Situation:

A leading oil company was working to employ Cisco telepresence technology globally. They needed to ensure the telepresence systems were engineered and rolled out to specifically serve the needs of their operations worldwide. The project would require the insight and collaboration of a diverse team across the globe.

Solution:

I worked directly with business managers, engineers, trainers and service delivery employees to identify the requirements and develop the strategy for the telepresence systems. I developed the training material and led the training delivery over a 2-year period across multi-cultural environments in the United States, Singapore and London.

Results:

The successful deployment of the telepresence technology was an innovative step into the future that contributed to this leading oil company’s competitiveness worldwide. The company saw an immediate decrease in trouble tickets during installation and a
sustained decrease in help-desk calls to Cisco.

Sheriff’s Department

Situation:

A Sheriff’s Department had a goal of improving the way they investigate and solve crimes by introducing new technologies, community outreach and better collaboration across the various departments. The Deputy Sheriff identified a need to think bigger picture and more strategically in the handling of cases. This presented a challenge to the career law enforcement and IT departments who were used to working a certain way. A change in the way individuals work and communicate with each other was needed to see improved results.

Solution:

The various mindsets and communication styles across the team were examined through HBDI assessments. Working with individuals and the team collectively, we examined the individual strengths and different thinking styles that can create challenges and produce blind spots when working together. The assessments revealed that there were a few people whose thinking styles differed greatly from others on their teams. Conversations revealed that the perspectives of these team members were often dismissed, likely because of thinking styles that differed greatly from the majority. The team underwent training in Communication, Creative and Critical Thinking that was specifically tailored to maximize their strengths and thinking styles.

Results:

The team learned to honor the different view points of their peers that shaped the way they approached cases and other departmental work, creating a sustained shift in internal culture and teamwork. They learned how to leverage the strengths and different thinking styles to come to solutions more quickly.

Critical Thinking Development for an Industry Leading Financial Organization

Situation:

The financial banking industry is undergoing massive change. Brick and mortar banks are going away. DIY e-trading is changing the role of stock brokers and financial advisers. All financial transactions are being handled in a very different way. This financial organization wanted to help their seasoned professionals who are facing the need to adapt.

Solution:

As part of their leadership program, I delivered a tailored webinar focused on techniques for introducing disruptive and critical thinking. The leadership learned ways to foster innovation and agility among their teams.

Results:

The webinar was attended by more than 300 managers and executives as part of their annual Leadership Development month, and was one of the highest-rated events. The participants were fascinated by the disruptive thinking concepts. They learned the importance of turning ideas upside down and reversing assumptions in order to strategically adapt to industry changes and emerging customer demands. The organization requested more in-depth training for the executive leadership as a direct result of the webinar.

Conscious Leadership Coaching for a Creative Entrepreneur

Situation:

Erica began coaching me as I was transitioning into self-employment. I struggled with trusting in my own worth as a design professional and having confidence in my work. I also struggled to adapt to change – working in a an environment where goals and priorities are constantly shifting was impacting my creative energy and confidence.”

Solution:

Through her Conscious Leadership Coaching, Erica taught me how and when to tap into certain archetypes to guide me through difficult working relationships.  She taught me the value of differences: every individual brings something different to the table, and it’s about embracing those differences to create harmonious relationships. Erica helped me recognize my highest point of value and taught me how to bring this into my work. She showed me how that which I perceive as my weaknesses are actually my strengths.”

Results:

This lead me to feeling more confident and grounded. Since working with Erica I’ve become more agile and open to change – I’ve learned how to embrace the creative process. Working with her has also given me the tools to embrace feedback from clients without shaking my self-worth. Becoming more agile and open to feedback has improved my working relationship with my business partner and clients! I would recommend Erica to anyone struggling to recognize the true value of what they bring to the table, in their career or life. I would recommend her to those in leadership positions who have a difficult time truly tapping into the full potential of their teams.”
